Sell Bulgari jewellery

A Serpenti, a Tubogas, a Monete, a 1960s piece in cabochons and yellow gold, or a B.zero1: the house examines and buys your Bulgari pieces, by appointment in Paris or in London.

The house of Altmann

Selling a Bulgari piece, in confidence

Bulgari signs bold jewellery that is much sought after on the secondary market — and its Roman pieces of the 1950s to 1980s, in coloured stones and yellow gold, are among the most prized at the great sales. We examine each piece — signature, condition, stones — and make a firm offer to buy it, in Paris at 22 rue Drouot or in London at 100 Hatton Garden.

What we look for

The Bulgari pieces we buy

Complimentary appraisal, immediate offer and immediate payment. These are the creations we look for as a priority — the period pieces first.

Period and high jewellery

The Roman pieces of the 1950s to 1980s: cabochons, frank coloured stones, solid yellow gold; vintage and high-jewellery creations.

Serpenti

Rings, bracelets, necklaces and watches with the serpent motif, enamelled or set.

Tubogas

Supple gold bands wound without soldering, in bracelets, necklaces and watches.

Monete

Antique coins set in gold, in necklaces, pendants and rings.

Bulgari Bulgari and Parentesi

Jewels and watches with the double logotype; the modular gold pieces of the 1980s.

B.zero1 and Divas' Dream

Rings, bracelets and necklaces of the B.zero1 line; the fan motif, set or in hard stones.

From 1948 to the present day

Recognising your Bulgari piece

Founded in Rome in 1884, the house has signed models recognisable at first glance. Here they are, from the oldest to the most recent.

Serpenti · 1948

A wristwatch in Tubogas gold coiled as a serpent opens the line in 1948; bracelets, necklaces and rings follow, set or enamelled.

Tubogas · late 1940s

A supple gold band wound without soldering, a nineteenth-century technique that Bulgari used from the late 1940s and revived in the 1970s.

Coloured stones · 1950–1970

Cabochons, frank coloured stones, solid yellow gold: the style that made the house's reputation. Pieces to show us before any decision.

Monete · 1966

Antique coins set in gold, in necklaces, pendants and rings: the first coin jewels date from 1966.

Bulgari Bulgari · 1977

The double name engraved on the bezel of a 1975 watch, which became the Bulgari Bulgari line in 1977: watches, rings, bracelets.

Parentesi · 1980s

Geometric gold elements assembled like links: Bulgari's modular jewellery.

B.zero1 · 1999

The spiral inspired by the Colosseum, in rings, bracelets and necklaces.

Divas' Dream · 2015

The fan of the mosaics of the Baths of Caracalla, in gold, hard stones or diamonds.

And all the others

Ring, necklace, clip: with no model name, a Bulgari piece is recognised by its signature, its hallmarks and its workmanship.

Appraisal

What gives a Bulgari piece its value

We look at these six points in front of you, then we make a firm offer.

Line and period

Serpenti, Tubogas, Monete, coloured-stone pieces of the 1950s to 1980s, or recent B.zero1 and Divas' Dream: each line has its demand.

Gold and weight

Yellow, rose or white gold, steel on some watches: the weight counts, the workmanship more.

Stones and enamel

Cabochons, diamonds, the enamel of the Serpenti: the quality of the stones and the state of the enamel weigh in the offer.

Signature and hallmarks

“BVLGARI”, the number and the hallmarks authenticate the piece; they are read in front of you.

Condition

Chipped enamel, a deformed Tubogas, scratches: we value the piece as it is. Do not have anything polished or repaired before you come.

Box and papers

They add value to the piece, without being essential.

Frequently asked questions

Selling Bulgari jewellery

Do you buy period Bulgari pieces?

Yes, first of all: Serpenti, Tubogas, Monete, coloured-stone jewels of the 1950s to 1980s, with or without a box. Show them to us before any decision.

Do you buy the B.zero1 line?

Yes, we buy B.zero1 rings, bracelets and necklaces, as well as the other Bulgari collections.

Is the Bulgari certificate necessary?

It adds value to the piece but is not compulsory: we authenticate and examine on the spot.

How do I obtain an opinion?

By appointment at 22 rue Drouot in Paris or 100 Hatton Garden in London, or remotely on photographs within 24 hours.

How do you verify that a Bulgari piece is authentic?

By the signature, the hallmarks and, where there is one, the number, then by the workmanship: weight, suppleness of the Tubogas, setting, finish. Everything is verified in-house, in front of you.

How much is a second-hand Bulgari B.zero1 ring worth?

It depends on the number of bands, the gold, the ceramic or diamonds, and the condition. We do not give a figure without having seen the piece: a photograph is enough for a first opinion, within 24 hours, then the firm offer is made across the table.

Do you buy Serpenti watches?

Yes, Serpenti Tubogas and jewellery watches, in gold or in steel and gold, with or without papers. A watch is read with its guarantee card, but is examined without one too.

Do you buy Monete jewellery?

Yes: necklaces, rings and pendants set with antique coins mounted in gold. The coin and the mount both count.

Can I sell a Bulgari piece in London?

Yes. The house receives in London by appointment at its office, 100 Hatton Garden, EC1N 8NX, in the jewellery quarter. Write first by WhatsApp or e-mail with photographs; the appointment is fixed around the house's visits.

Is payment immediate?

Yes. Once agreement is reached, payment is made the same day, by bank transfer, whatever the amount — with no fees or commission.

Key facts — October 2026

What to know before you come

Verifiable facts, reviewed in October 2026. For a specific case, the appointment settles the matter.

Signature and hallmarks

Pieces carry the house's signature, often engraved BVLGARI, with the V of the Latin alphabet. Made in Italy, they also carry the gold fineness and an Italian maker's mark: a star, a number, the initials of the province.

Rome, via Condotti

Sotirio Bulgari opened his first shop in Rome in 1884; the house settled on the via Condotti in 1905. It is still there.

Enamelled Serpenti

The enamelled scales appeared around 1965; they are screwed, not soldered. The state of the enamel weighs in the price.
